Gravity Media is seeking a talented Editor - GFX Focus to assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the client’s vision. Ultimately, as an editor, you should be able to bring sight and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story.
Work closely with Service Delivery Manager, Production Supervisor and Coordinator, vendors and the rest of the resources within the Gravity ecosystem to coordinate and prepare projects that will be run from client’s facility. Occasionally, this position may be required to attend a remote event and may be required to respond to critical situations after normal work hours.
Ingest and log video content. Edit video on a wide variety of projects and content and create a broad set of assets, as requested.
Take projects from the final moment on set to a fully finished video piece that is ready for distribution
Uphold, maintain, and enhance quality standards throughout project lifecycle
Provide excellent customer service and communication to all stakeholders, including senior level stakeholders, during all phases of studio production and client interaction
Supervise and oversee post-production flow on large-scale multi-episodic projects.
Complete detailed reports upon project completion
Create, update, and enhance technical standards and procedure documentation
Collaborate with the client and production team members to understand needs, design basic storyboards, and create and edit animations
Create a project timeline that is feasible but ambitious and meets all deadlines
Liaise and work effectively with other design and production staff, and be a central point of communication with the client/partner during the process
Bachelor’s Degree in film studies, cinematography or related field
3 – 5 years of experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Adobe CC and Final Cut)
Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
Skilled in motion graphics. Experience creating broadcast graphics packages. Work creatively to produce original and aesthetically pleasing designs and solutions. Follow branding guidelines
Juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced production environment
Devise creative solutions to problems as they arise
Direct Voiceover if necessary, and ability to mix VO and sound affects
Listen to feedback and altering animations to better suit client needs.
Advanced knowledge of After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop
Creative mind and storytelling skills
Must have excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Strong client relations and interfacing skills

Ability to respond to work in line with job requirements
Occasional travel may be required

Ability to operate a keyboard, view a video display terminal screen, ability to use telephone equipment.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and push or pull up to 25 pounds.
