JOB PURPOSE

As the Media Asset Manager, you will lead a team of MAM Coordinators in Seattle. You will be responsible for ensuring that daily content operations are ran according to Global Content Operations principles. You will ensure the integrity and metadata accuracy of ingested content and support the integration of new content delivery workflows. You will foster relationships with Content Management partners in the related regions, ensuring seamless application of the client’s standards, toolsets, and processes. You will maintain expert level knowledge of Media Asset Management technologies and will be the evangelist for streamlined compliant, and efficient content management within the facility.

Within the Seattle Remote Broadcast Center, you will work in lockstep with the Technical Operations Center to run live content operations (setting and managing records and partner deliverables) and have direct responsibility for scheduling Media Coordinator staff to supervise event ingest and metadata application processes both live and post-event.

Previous experience supervising and motivating technical staff, demonstrating ability to work well under tight deadlines, and managing work streams that are influenced by a diverse set of teams will be essential as you implement an asset management practice that generates identifiability and value in every media asset processed by the facility.

The successful candidate will be assigned to the Remote Broadcast Centre owned and operated by Riot Games. In this role, you will be an integral part of the Asset Management team and you will report to the Service Delivery Manager at the Remote Broadcast Center. The position is based in the greater Seattle area.

The position may require travel on occasion both national and international.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply the prescribed Global Content Operations strategy within the RBC.
  • Develop content validation and metadata curation processes for local ingests.
  • Provide exceptional support to users of the Global Content Platform.
  • Design, test and deploy delivery workflows according to developing business needs.
  • Supervise Media Coordinators and logging staff according to event and content load.
  • Represent Media Asset Management within the RBC & related leadership team.
  • Perform metadata integrations and mappings for regional parties.
  • Supervise daily content ingest operations.
  • Oversee content logging initiatives.
  • Proactively monitor system health, Report and track system bugs with vendors.
  • Maintain expert level knowledge of Media and Digital Asset Management technology.
  • Update and maintain all SOPs and contribute to new SOPs and the sharing of business/skill knowledge.
  • Performing regular reporting on performance of the center by identifying and tracking data for KPIs.
  • Imparting skill and knowledge to co-workers and colleagues.

This position will have access to all live and pre-recorded assets and, as such, must be managed with great integrity. Professional and best practice behaviors in this role are essential at all times.

EXPERIENCE PROFILE

Essential

  • 6+ years of experience in Media Asset Management.
  • 2+ years of experience in supervisory roles.
  • Advanced knowledge of main broadcast and digital video and audio formats.
  • Strong knowledge of broadcast M.A.M. systems and advanced knowledge of related technology stacks (encoding, storage, QC).
  • Effective interpersonal skills: good judgment and ability to interact with different levels of management and teams.
  • Passionate about troubleshooting issues, exploring, and experimenting new methods.
  • Self-driven; Self-starter with a habit for taking initiative.
  • Strong knowledge of Encoding Standards (H.264, AAC, GOP structure, I-P-B-frame schemes, bitrates, aspect ratios, renditions, chroma-subsampling, etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail and experience composing runbooks and process documentation.
  • Proficient in video and image editing platforms, specifically Adobe CC and Final Cut.
  • Working knowledge of data exchange formats (XML, JSON, Exif, etc…).
  • Passionate about Esports.

Desirable

  • Understanding or experience working with and operating EVS for file extraction.

COMPETENCIES

  • Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite apps, and ability to learn and utilize Google business apps.
