Summer Olympic Games

What we do

To support Austria’s national broadcaster ORF in their comprehensive coverage of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Gravity Media developed a remote live production workflow which drew together footage from multiple sites across the competition.

What we used

Our solution included comprehensive broadcast set ups at the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) in Tokyo, the ORF Olympic TV studio in Tokyo and six further installations spread across selected Games venues. The main programme feed was then cut at the ORF Production Centre in Vienna.

Outcome

ORF had access to over 55 events at the Olympics and with our technical help were able to ensure that almost every competition featuring Austrian participation could be seen live. In total over 500 hours of coverage was broadcast live across ORF 1, ORF SPORT and ORF.
