What we do

NRLW Magic Round journeyed to McDonald Jones Stadium in 2025 and was the only chance in the season to see every NRLW game of the round in person over one exciting weekend of footy.

The first ever NRLW Magic Round in Newcastle is a key innovation of NRLW expansion and, alongside Gravity Media, the 9Network are looking forward to delivering world class coverage to Australian and international audiences across the season.

What we used

Gravity Media delivered extensive coverage of the inaugural National Rugby League Women’s Magic Round, involving all 12 teams playing across the one weekend at Newcastle’s McDonald Jones Stadium, with Gravity Media deploying its major state-of-the-art HD 6 outside broadcast trucks and a crew of 54.

Outcome

Gravity Media’s new NRLW partnership with the 9Network delivers coverage of 34 games in this year’s NRLW Telstra Premiership, with the Magic Round representing 6 games. Nine’s all-screens coverage of the NRLW is available across the 9Network and record breaking streaming platform 9Now.

In a complex and significant broadcast undertaking across this year’s NRLW season, Gravity Media is deploying a fleet of state-of-the-art high definition outside broadcast trucks to deliver NRLW coverage to Nine’s major production center in Sydney.
