India Tour of England Cricket Series

Australia

Sky Sports

What we did

Gravity Media teamed up with Sky Sports for some television innovation – the first time that a helmet camera was used in test cricket. Our specialist cameras team was at the India v England Test Match at Edgbaston, as part of the India Tour of England, where English cricketer Ollie Pope wore our HelmetCam.

What we used

Helmet cam is a helmet-mounted miniature camera and micro-transmitter with a battery pack custom-built by Gravity Media’s Globecam™ Specialty Camera team. At the receiving end, we use our custom-made antenna array and filtering, with the Domo Broadcast ProRXD RF receiver decoder.

Outcome

This was a world-first in Test cricket, and has approval from both the ICC and ECB, giving fans the opportunity to view the game from a brand-new perspective.
