The Stawell Gift

What we did

Since 2018, Gravity Media – then branded Chief Entertainment – has produced the three-hour LIVE national Channel 7 broadcast. A true turnkey solution from production to outside broadcast. The country town of Stawell is nestled within the Victorian Grampian Mountains, three hours from Melbourne and therefore requires a great logistical and technical effort.

What we used

The Stawell Gift is an iconic and historic Australian sporting event. This is not lost on the Gravity Media team. Key to the broadcast success is to proudly tell the legendary tales of the past 137 years of the event as well as delivering a world quality athletics broadcast. Backstory films focussed on the now and past along with solid race coverage and live interviews that are carefully woven throughout the three-hour broadcast to keep the viewer entertained & informed.

Outcome

A pleasing ratings winner in all Australian markets testament to the emotive storytelling, production and technical efforts, strong and valued client relationships and of course the love affair Australia has with this iconic and everlasting sporting event, the legendary Stawell Gift.
