What we did

To supply post-production facilities and crew to support the edit of Avenue 5 – Armando Iannucci’s intentionally silly outer-space-based comedy.

What we used

Gravity House was home to the Avenue 5 team for a number of weeks, with Gravity Media providing six offline edit suites and two VFX edits, along with shared storage and edit support.

Outcome

Set 40 years in the future, Avenue 5 follows the captain and crew of a luxury space cruise ship as they navigate disgruntled passengers and unexpected events after experiencing technical difficulties onboard.

The troubled crew must try and keep everyone calm after the ship gets thrown off course and ends up needing three years to return to Earth. Avenue 5 comically explores the tension between people at the top who have lots of influence and little knowledge, and their underlings who have more knowledge but little influence.

Season one debuted in early 2020; pandemic-delayed season two is expected in 2021/22. UK viewers can download all episodes on Sky, or buy them on Amazon Prime Video.
