Billie Jean King Cup 2022

What we did

Gravity Media return as the International Tennis Federation’s (ITF) host broadcast partner for the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals, which took place in Glasgow. This is the second year in a row Gravity Media was named as host broadcaster following the success of the Finals event in Prague in 2021.

What we used

Gravity Media’s OB trucks Pictor and Sirius provided the World Feed coverage of two courts as Switzerland won their first-ever title. Edits based at Production Centres London and Manchester delivering fast turnaround highlights packages and short form content.

Outcome

Working alongside the ITF, Gravity Media created a hybrid approach for this production, with the world feed being cut on-site and then English commentary added back at our Production Centres London. It was distributed from there for over 40 broadcasters in 196 territories, which is a record amount of broadcast coverage in Billie Jean King Cup history. This event displayed a truly collaborative effort, from multiple departments and regions, resulting in a successful end-to-end solution.
