Share
The Boat Race is one of the UK’s most iconic annual sporting events, where the rowing teams of Oxford and Cambridge Universities go head-to-head. First held in 1829, the race now attracts millions of viewers each year, with fans lining the banks of the River Thames and tuning in from around the world to witness this historic rivalry unfold.
This year marked the 170th edition of the event, and the Gravity Media teams came together to deliver broadcast facilities for BBC Sport. Our Outside Broadcast trucks, specialist cameras, and RF equipment were deployed along the full 4.25-mile course from Putney to Mortlake, ensuring every moment of the action was captured, from the starting line to the final stroke. Coverage was delivered seamlessly across water, ground, and air, with a dedicated crew of more than 100 talented professionals making it all possible.
Behind the scenes, our teams worked hand in hand to coordinate complex technical setups, manage multiple live feeds, and deliver the high production standards expected
We’re proud to have played a part in bringing the atmosphere, competition, and heritage of this celebrated event to audiences across the country and beyond.
