Stefanos Tsitsipas captured the biggest title of his career last night, defeating Dominic Thiem at the 2019 Nitto ATP Finals in London.
The sixth-seeded Greek won a thrilling final-set tie-break to become the youngest winner of the ATP’s season finale since Leyton Hewitt in 2001. The 21-year-old Tsitsipas defeated Austrian Thiem 6-7(6), 6-2, 7-6(4) over two hours and 35 minutes in the deciding match at a packed O2 Arena.
Tsitsipas earned 1,300 ATP Rankings points and claimed prize money of just over £2m. He finishes the year ranked sixth in the world.
Gravity Media was onsite at the O2, supporting ATP Media, ESPN, IMG/Amazon and NHK. The tournament was delivered using our IP Flypack and a Lawo Virtual Studio Manager control system. This year’s Nitto ATP Finals marked another outing for our IP Flypack as we built a similar workflow for the UEFA Champions League, enabling us to stay on the cutting edge of technology.
