Watford, UK, 10 January 2019 – Gravity Media Group (GMG), the owner of worldwide production and broadcast services specialists Gearhouse Broadcast, Hyperactive Broadcast and Input Media, has appointed Barry Revels as its Business Development Director. Based at its Watford, UK, headquarters, Barry will spend much of his time on the road, meeting with customers and assessing new markets that could benefit from Gravity Media’s wide range of innovative production services.

Barry has extensive experience in sectors as diverse as outside broadcasts, flyaways, remote production, OTT media, sports production, post, systems integration, equipment rental, radio, live music and theatre. He spent the past 13 years running a successful specialist TV broadcast equipment sales agency. As part of this, he was the UK’s sole sales agent for Lawo, the network, control, audio and video technology pioneer, Belgian mini-camera system experts CyanView, and specialist broadcast monitoring manufacturer, Bel Digital Audio.

During this period, Barry helped Lawo rapidly go from an almost unknown name within the broadcast industry to one of its most respected and in-demand technology vendors. Gravity Media’s Gearhouse Broadcast was an early adopter of Lawo technology, and through its relationship with Barry, is now among its biggest global customers.

Gravity Media’s Chief Revenue Officer Eamonn Dowdall, who Barry will report into, said: “Through his impressive work in building up the Lawo brand, Barry has demonstrated his pedigree for business development across a variety of markets in the UK and Europe. He’s already well known and respected here at Gravity Media and throughout the various sectors that he has operated within and is someone we’ve always enjoyed working with. We see him as the ideal candidate to further develop our existing client relationships while also identifying future opportunities as we continue growing our businesses.”

Discussing his appointment, Barry said: “I have enjoyed working with and supporting Gravity Media and Gearhouse Broadcast in whatever way I could as a supplier for many years. It has been fascinating watching the business grow over this time. I’m very excited now to be part of this highly professional team and to contribute to continue the success Gravity Media has enjoyed within our industry.”
