This role has become available as a result of the merger of the two Companies. The postholder will report to the Company’s Chief Operating Officer and will drive the Company’s technology ambitions to support the Company’s mission, vision and strategic priorities. The postholder will play a critical role in delivering an innovation strategy of new technology for our clients as well as an IT strategy across EMG/Gravity.

Responsibilities

The Director – Technology will be responsible for leading the strategy of operational delivery and technology functions across the globe

  • Overall leadership of the strategy for technology with an emphasis on innovation to support the transition of the traditional broadcast workflow into a connected IP architecture
  • Oversee and manage the Company’s information systems and connectivity, moving towards single sign on and an infrastructure to deliver towards one company IT.
  • Implement connectivity solutions
  • Responsible for capex management and reporting
  • Streamline operational processes to enhance efficiency and client service delivery, with a regular cadence of reviews to optimize performance and implement efficiencies
  • Maintain market awareness with strong relationships with vendors and technology partners
  • Work closely with Production & Content/Media Services & Facilities to identify technology opportunities driving growth in EBITDA
  • Escalation point for all technology requirements, including being the conduit for clients to deliver feedback to the organization
  • Build strong relationships with senior team and country leads
  • Advocate and champion Company values, whilst acting as role model for embracing change
  • Strong team management process in place with development, feedback and reward systems in place

Requirements

  • Strong strategic, operational, analytical, and people management skills
  • Experience of delivering technology enhancements in a media environment
  • Ability to manage a broad strategic organization within tight timelines and budgets
  • Excellent prioritization and task planning abilities
  • Good commercial understanding for navigating international work environments
  • Recognition of requirement for operational processes and needs
  • Excellent written and spoken English proficiency
  • High level of energy and commitment
  • Structured and highly organized
