As Director of Technology for Gravity Media in EMEA, Nick is responsible for technology across all of Gravity Media’s EMEA operations, defining the roadmap, strategy and service provision for the state-of-the-art Production Centre in Chiswick, west London, as well as the Flypack and Post-Production businesses.
Nick began his career at Carlton Television in 1996 working in its broadcast facility based at The London Studios. He started as an engineering runner, before progressing to booking co-ordinator, VTR operator, edit assistant and finally engineer. Whilst at ITV, he was involved in operations and projects. He spent a year in the Emerging Technologies department, where he set up and evaluated file-based workflows and future HD technologies.
Nick then became part of the London Studios technical support team, servicing studios, post-production and transmission, before joining Gravity Media (as Input Media) in May 2005.
Initially responsible for post-production, he became Director of Technology for Input Media in 2009, and latterly defined the technical strategic direction for Gravity Media’s UK-based production & content operations. During his tenure, he has been responsible for all technical operations and delivery of Gravity Media’s UEFA and other work streams, as well as driving change to ensure our technology and workflows to continue to deliver for key clients on projects such as Roland Garros and the Women’s World Cup.
