UEFA commissioned Gravity Media to upgrade its broadcast facilities at the organisation’s HQ in Nyon, Switzerland, to bring its match centre and master control room up to spec for broadcasting the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.
Following the original brief from UEFA, Gravity Media provided consultancy and project management throughout the contract, and carried out the systems integration on-site. Technical support remains available to UEFA post-installation as part of our aftersales support service. The equipment selected to carry out the upgrade included: a Miranda NV8280 router; Miranda Multi-viewers; Miranda glue and fibre conversion; Miranda iControl; and Barco LED rear projection seamless screens. Harris glue was also installed along with a Tektronix waveform monitors and Bel Audio Monitors. The design and manufacture of the bespoke Command Centre furniture was from Custom Consoles Module-R range of control room furniture. The installation was delivered by an experienced team that included a senior project engineer, three wiremen, two riggers, a custom control programmer and a system programming engineer.
The new installation comprises bespoke furniture, new cabling and high-end technical equipment. The project took eight weeks to plan, followed by four weeks of onsite installation, integration and commissioning.
