Horse racing attracts its armies of followers for a wide range of reasons, whether it’s the gambling, the fashion, the people-watching or simply the love of horses.

At Gravity Media, we’re no exception. Among broadcast and production companies, we’re the class of the field, and we’re every bit as passionate as the fans. We’ve been supporting equestrian sports for years ‒ from the Grand National in the UK to the Melbourne Cup in Australia, covering everything from flat racing and steeplechasing, to show jumping and eventing. Onsite at the event, you’ll find either our equipment or our people – or both – supporting all facets of multiplatform production.

Our coverage of live sport spans the full spectrum of production support, from equipment rental packages right through to studio hostings and post-production. As a minimum, we’ll supply kit from our extensive range of cameras and lenses, as well as Avid systems and EVS servers; and at the top end, we’ll offer dedicated broadcast solutions to deliver integrated racing services from one of our Production Centres located globally.
Take our recent work for a racecourse group in the UK. At The Production Centre in London, we assigned a permanent production gallery for each race day, comprising a dedicated broadcast and automation system to enable single-director operation of a live racing service. Facilities included feed ingest and replay equipment, design and implementation of 3D graphics with full integration to live betting data, and dedicated audio capability.

The production system was supported by our in-house team of technologists and engineers, with Gravity Media matrix capacity, rack space, power and cooling for the network termination and video decoder equipment. We also provided dedicated VO facilities, along with full technical and engineering support whenever the client was on air. The net result was an outstanding production facility complete with production and technical support from people with an unparalleled understanding of live sports broadcasting. The client was off to a flyer.
