Gravity Media’s Specialist Cameras team returned to Royal Ascot once again this year, delivering  on-course coverage through a combination of wirecam systems and unique tracking vehicles fitted with two gyro stabilised camera gimbals to follow the horse and spectators across the racecourse.

Working across the five-day meeting, the team captured the build-up, atmosphere and thrilling racing moments from unique perspectives, supporting the wider broadcast production with dynamic visual coverage.

An overhead wirecam was deployed above the Parade Ring, as horses, trainers and crowds gathered ahead of each race with a second 600-metre wirecam positioned along the course to  follow the action down the final stretch, tracking the horses to the finish line with the iconic Ascot grandstands as the backdrop.

On the ground, Gravity Media’s custom-built tracking vehicle, fitted with two stabilised camera mounts, followed the horses and their riders along the course, to capture key moments as the race developed.

Delivering coverage at Royal Ascot requires a detailed understanding of race flow, timing and positioning to anticipate where pivotal moments will unfold.

Gravity Media is proud to have returned to Royal Ascot, supporting one of the most prestigious events in the racing calendar with innovative and reliable broadcast media and facilities.
