Over the weekend of Friday 19 November, the inaugural Formula 1 race took place in Qatar as both the Driver’s and Constructor Championships reached its climax as Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen battled it out with just two races to go.

On Thursday 30 September, a statement from F1 confirmed Qatar would host the vacated race weekend following the cancellation of the Australia race whilst simultaneously announcing a 10 year race agreement to commence from 2023 at a yet-to-be announced new venue.
