Recognised for its exceptional work at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Gearhouse Broadcast, a worldwide broadcast services specialist, has been presented an ITV Insiders award for delivering a range of facilities to ITV at last summer’s international football championship.
Gearhouse Broadcast was commissioned by ITV Sport to deliver facilities both in the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) and on a remote studio on Copacabana beach. These two bases were used to produce ITV’s live coverage of last summer’s international football championship. ITV studios’ ambitious setup for the tournament included full talkback capability between the two sites.
To support ITV’s production requirements in Brazil, Gearhouse Broadcast supplied and installed a range of equipment, including EVS XT3 servers and IPDirector production asset management suite, Avid MediaComposer, Interplay and ISIS shared media storage system, Snell routers, Harris glue, Sony cameras and Riedel talkback systems.
“ITV Studios has been a partner of Gearhouse’s for a long time and on many projects – including sports and entertainment. When they came to us to deliver these facilities for the World Cup in Brazil, we knew it would be an exciting and challenging project,” said Kevin Moorhouse, chief operating officer, Gearhouse Broadcast. “To be honoured for our services by ITV is something that means a lot to whole team here at Gearhouse.”
Sally Debonnaire said: “ITV Insiders gave us the opportunity to reward our suppliers that have delivered value above and beyond our expectations in 2014, while looking ahead to how we can work together to deliver ever more innovative and ambitious projects in 2015.”
