The BBC IBC area covered around 5000 square feet and housed a control room for the main HD production, interactive internet and mobile-phone services. There was a large audio control room and a sub audio control room where all audio and communications were controlled from. These were supported by 18 edit rooms, production offices and two big servers, all connected to the venues and the BOB EVS server.

The broadcast equipment selected for the BBC Sport IBC included Harris embedders, DA’s, up and down convertors; a Pro-Bel 384×384 router, 17 Avid Adrenalin edit suites with ISIS Server 40TB, EVS XT2s x20, Sony HDC 1500 camera channels, a Sony MVS 8400 vision mixer, a Sony MFS 2000 vision mixer, Sony DSR 70 x4, Sony BVM 14 & 20s (x20 & x40), A grade glass monitors, 20 plus LMD 24s & 30 plus LMD 1750s TFT monitors, Vutrix x30 monitors, Sony 45 x HDW M2000, 15 x VTR inc. DVC Pro (Panasonic), DVCAM Sony (HVR M25E), Digi Beta Sony, Evertz VIP multi viewers x 20, Tektronix Waveform monitors WFM 7000 x6. HDC1500 x 4, Sony BVE 2000 edit controller, Sony J30 VTR, Sony JH30 VTR.

Gravity Media (as Gearhouse Broadcast) also provided Siemens with the flyaway solution for BBC Sport’s track & field coverage. The facility consisted of the BBC presentation studio and unilateral cameras. The flyaway solution was made up of x4 Sony HDC 1500 camera channels, a Sony HDC 3300 super motion camera, x4 EVS XT2s, x3 Sony HDW M2000, a Snell & Wilcox Kahuna 4ME, Pro-Bel 96×96 HD video router, a Pro-Bel 128×128 AES audio router, Sony BVM and LMD monitors, Tektronix 7000 Waveform monitors, a Riedel matrix and Harris glue products.
