Gravity Media is looking for an experienced Broadcast Engineer. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include the design, build and maintenance of broadcast facilities, with supervision over all technical and operational aspects of allocated projects.

We’re delighted to be expanding our team and we’re looking for an experienced Broadcast Engineer.

Gravity Media is a brand-new company with a 30-year pedigree, formed by the coming together of four established broadcast and production houses: Gearhouse Broadcast, HyperActive Broadcast, Input Media and Chief Entertainment. Operating across six countries worldwide, with a team of over 500 people, we’re always on the lookout for great new talent. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to be responsible for the design, build and maintenance of outside broadcast facilities, with supervision over all technical and operational aspects of allocated projects. Day to day this will include maintaining equipment, providing technical and communication support, and liaising with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the broadcast is of a high technical standard.

This is a full-time permanent role based in Sydney, providing exposure to a diverse range of exciting projects. We are open to contract positions as well so please contact us to find out more.

Main responsibilities include: 

  • Design, build, test and provide maintenance of broadcast facilities and equipment;
  • Provide technical support for operational and field staff;
  • Maintain specialist equipment for video production, broadcast and interactive media;
  • Analyse and repair technical faults on equipment and systems;
  • Minimising loss of service and implement alternative methods of service provision when required;
  • Update documentation, procedures, technical reports and operation manuals;
  • Conduct regular checks on equipment to ensure quality, working condition and presentation;
  • Identify areas of improvement across the business.

To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated and proactive team player who has:

  • Experience with some of the technologies we use including CCU, Shader, Vision Mixer, Grass Valley, Ross Video, Imagine, VSM, Axon, Cerebrum, SRT;
  • Project Management;
  • Team management;
  • Customer service;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
