Australian Idol

What we do

Australian Idol, the iconic talent show, returned to Australian television in 2023, to unearth a new generation of Australian musical artists. The show had a star-studded panel of judges, including American Idol judge and Grammy award-winning artist Harry Connick Jr, Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor, popular broadcaster Kyle Sandilands, and eight-time ARIA Award-winning singer-songwriter Amy Shark.  The Idol franchise has launched the careers of many successful artists, including Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, and Kelly Clarkson.

What we used

Gravity Media Australia was on site at the Sydney Coliseum Theatre to work with the team from Eureka Productions on the iconic star-maker series, Australian Idol. Outside Broadcast truck HD6 connected to a 12-camera layout featuring SpiderCam and Steadicam for Season 8 of the program broadcast on the Seven Network.

Outcome

The Gravity Media team worked with Eureka Productions on a total of 12 episodes, from the Top 24 all the way through to the Live Grand Finale. The episodes featured Performance Shows, Live Results Shows, Live Performance Shows and Special Guest Performances from international superstars Meghan Trainor, One Republic, Adam Lambert, Harry Connick Jr, Jessica Mauboy, Amy Shark & Sam Fischer.
