Following the recent confirmation of Gravity Media selecting Sony to upgrade and expand its camera fleet across the globe in a move to future-proof its technology for live broadcasting and accommodate further business growth, Gravity Media Australia today confirmed the acquisition of new world-first Sony FR7 camera technologies which deliver 4K ultra high definition and 35mm “cinema quality” vision coupled with leading-edge robotic capabilities.

Internationally acknowledged for a broadcast solution that delivers “cinematography meets robotics”, the FR7 provides smooth pan, tilt and zoom control coupled with a full-frame image sensor and a high-quality E-mount lens line-up. Having a full-frame sensor gives the camera a “film” look, with low depth of field and the ability to use a number of different interchangeable lenses opens a new world of creative potential for Gravity Media Australia’s clients and partners.

Ian Stokes – Director of Engineering, Gravity Media Australia:

“We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Sony in bringing a remarkable camera technology into our portfolio of broadcast technology and production solutions.

“Gravity Media Australia is committed to leading in the introduction of new technologies and production systems that deliver enhanced outcomes for our clients across our portfolio of major sports and entertainment television productions.

“The introduction of the Sony FR7 is a significant development for Gravity Media and our clients.”
