Last night, the 2019 Global Awards took place at London’s Hammersmith Apollo. Launched in 2018 by Global – the media and entertainment group that owns a number of radio stations including Capital, Heart and Radio X – the Awards celebrate the stars of music, news and entertainment across a variety of genres.
In a line-up that was inevitably more pop than rock, a number of artists took to the stage to perform for their fans, including past-winners Little Mix, producer Mark Ronson, and rising stars Mabel and Anne-Marie.
The ceremony saw both Mark Ronson and Little Mix do a double: Little Mix won Best Song, for Woman Like Me, and also took home the prize for Best Group, while Mark Ronson received Best Male and the Global Special Award. Meanwhile, Dua Lipa also secured a brace, taking home Best Female and Best British Artist.
The Best Indie category was won by the Blossoms, who also took to the stage to play their I Can’t Stand It and Charlemagne hits.
HyperActive is delighted to have worked on the event, with our engineers onsite to support 10 Adobe Creative Cloud systems, including a RED Rocket-X ingest machine to capture, ingest and accelerate 4k media throughout the evening.
