Gravity Media Group, the global provider of complex live broadcast facilities and production services, has appointed seasoned HR CIPD professional Angela Cardani-Liggett as its chief human resources officer (CHRO).

With extensive commercial and generalist experience of operating in the media and entertainment, FMCG, financial and high-tech sectors, Angela will be responsible for leading the HR function for Gravity Media going forward.

Angela joins Gravity Media from Auction Technology Group, where she was global CHRO and part of the executive team leading HR and office management divisions for the UK, German and US offices. During her career Angela has also held senior HR leadership positions at CNET Networks, MTV, HIT Entertainment and Elevate, and operated in multiple territories.

“A significant part of my career has been spent in the media and entertainment sector, and I’m excited to be returning at such a key point, as more and more organisations become their own content creators,” said Angela. “Gravity Media’s talented staff, unique end-to-end offering, global reach and well-deserved reputation for innovation and excellence has attracted an impressive list of customers. I look forward to helping the business and its dedicated and skilled team continue to achieve great things.”

Angela will report to Gravity Media Group’s CFO Paul Greensmith. He said of the appointment: “With the rapid growth that we’re experiencing across the group, it’s important that we have the right structures in place to help us build on this success. Our talented staff are central to everything we do, and in Angela, we’ve found someone with a proven track record in developing and leading internal engagement and recognition initiatives. Her extensive experience in overseeing multi locations will also be invaluable to us as we continue to expand our presence in territories such as the US, mainland Europe and APAC.”

Gravity Media Group, the owner of Gearhouse Broadcast, Hyperactive Broadcast and Input Media, has made several key appointments in the last few months as it diversifies its businesses and expands its service offering to customers around the world. These include the hiring of Hitachi Kokusai Electronic’s former general manager Masa Kato as its new director of business development for APAC, and Pac-12 Networks’ Michael Harabin, who joins as president of its US business, Gearhouse Broadcast USA.

This expansion is the result of substantial investment received from TowerBrook Capital Partners in September 2016, which has also led to several acquisitions, including the recent purchase of German broadcast equipment rental house, Genesis Broadcast Services.
