What we do
On the first Tuesday in November, all eyes were on the $8 million Lexus Melbourne Cup, where history was made, and another legend was born. But before The Race That Stops A Nation, the 2022 Melbourne Cup Carnival began with the Penfolds Victoria Derby Day, followed by the all-important Lexus Melbourne Cup. Following the first two glorious days of racing at Flemington Racecourse, came Kennedy Oaks Day and TAB Champions Stakes Day.
The Network 10 broadcast brought viewers all the exciting action on and off the track, hosted by Eddie McGuire alongside Lexus Melbourne Cup winning jockey and trainer Michelle Payne, international racing media icon Francesca Cumani, and three-time Lexus Melbourne Cup winning jockey Glen Boss.
What we used
Gravity Media joined with Network Ten for the biggest-ever coverage of the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Some 50+ television cameras were deployed across Flemington Race Course, and three of Gravity Media’s state of the art high definition outside broadcast trucks used to capture every moment of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
Outcome
Viewers didn’t miss a minute of all the race action, news and insights from a massive four days of racing. Viewers had unprecedented access to jockeys, trainers, owners, celebrities and of course all the fashions on the field over the four days on Network 10’s broadcast with a multi-studio set-up across Flemington Racecourse covering all aspects of the iconic Carnival.
As the broadcast reached all parts of Australia and around the world, Gravity Media worked with Network 10 to capture all the action. The broadcast was live and free on Network 10 and streamed on 10 Play.
