Motor Racing

The driving force.

Motor Racing

When the green flag comes down and the lights go out, motorsport is an experience like no other.

The screech of the tyres, the wail of the engines, the crunch of metal from a pile-up at Turn 1. From the comfort of home, you won’t quite get the smell of burning rubber, but the sensations of speed and sound are just as accessible from a well-crafted production.

At Gravity Media, we’ve been involved in all forms of motorsport for as long as we’ve been in business, both as avid participants and pioneers of new approaches. We maintain a relentless drive for efficiency, agility and creativity in everything we do, and firmly believe that in the modern media landscape, where consumers are demanding increasingly personalised and immersive experiences, we must remain at the forefront of production technology and process innovation. Our curiosity and ambition to deliver best-in-class solutions for our partners remains our fundamental ethos.

We offer a range of services for every motorsport event, from track coverage to event communications. For F1 – viewed by many as the pinnacle of motorsport – we’ve created full onsite race-broadcast solutions, as well as ancillary presentation, interview and behind-the-scenes productions. With a bespoke flypack offering that’s lightweight, easy to ship and quick to rig, we’re fully mobile and can follow the F1 caravan all around the world, ensuring consistent, high-quality coverage at every Grand Prix weekend.

Another hugely popular format is the V8 Supercars in Australia, for which our approach is similar but also includes a more comprehensive communication and timings package. For the 2020 season, that has involved full track camera coverage, pit lane wireless and specialist cameras, in-car camera services, broadcast GFX and team radios, as well as a complete onsite non-broadcast communications solution involving over 1,300 UHF handsets.

We’ve also been more than a match for the COVID-19 pandemic. When it has been impossible to travel from track to track with our OB facilities due to border closures, we’ve swapped our onsite setup for remote hostings run out of our globally located Production Centres. From remote control rooms and studio hostings, to remote race control and remote commentary, each vital production element has been delivered flawlessly from afar to keep the racing on track, the fans engaged and the sponsors happy.
