London, United Kingdom, 08 March 2022 – Gravity Media is proud to continue its ongoing sponsorship of Rise and support the 2022 global mentoring scheme.

Rise, the award-winning advocacy group for gender diversity in the broadcast media technology sector, has announced its sponsors for 2022/2023 including Gravity Media, and also the launch of this year’s mentoring schemes.

Building on the success of last year, 2022 sees the continuous expansion and growth of Rises’ education arm ‘Rise Up Academy’, as well as its fifth annual mentoring scheme in the UK, its third in Singapore, second in North America and the introduction of its first mentoring scheme in North and Central Europe and ANZ.

Rise mentoring is a free, six-month program to support women working in, or aspiring to work in the broadcast media technology sector. Past mentees have come from a variety of job roles including engineering, technical operations, sales, marketing and business development. Applications are welcome from women who are working full time, part-time or freelance and of any age group above the age of 18.

Applications for all schemes open today and close on 03  April 2022.

These schemes are made possible due to the support from our industry, and Gravity Media is proud to be a Gold UK sponsor alongside other industry sponsors for 2022/23.

The 2022 mentoring program sees a variety of experienced media technology sector industry representatives, at a diversity of levels of seniority, ready to offer expertise, knowledge and guidance to our mentees.

Its mentees benefit from a range of multiple programs of work and support including one-to-one mentoring contact with their pairing, monthly group meetings, facilitated peer-to-peer support and access to face-to-face networking and practical workshops.

Carrie Wootten, Managing Director of Rise, said:“We are excited to announce the 2022 mentoring program and look forward to receiving the international mentee applications, especially those in North and Central Europe and ANZ for the first time. We know that the support and significant investment provided through the program is needed to encourage and enable women to thrive and reach their potential and succeed in our industry.” Wootten added: “I would like to thank the incredible generosity of all of our sponsors, which enable us to bring our programs of work to women in the industry across six regions and for us also to develop our education arm, the ‘Rise Up Academy’, which is critical in inspiring, educating and informing the next generation of talent about pathways and opportunities across the media technology sector. Our aim is to reach 2,000 young people by the end of the year through face-to-face practical workshops. I am looking forward to working with all of the sponsors to collectively reach our ambition of a gender-balanced and diverse workforce.”
