The Cheltenham Festival is seen by many as the pinnacle of the Jump racing season. Running this year from 12th to 15th March, the event kicked off with the seven key races of Champion Hurdle Day, followed by Ladies’ Day for the fashionistas, St Patrick’s Thursday for the drinkers, and finally the legendary Gold Cup Day for sports fans everywhere.

Day three provided one of the most significant days in the meeting’s history, as Bryony Frost became the first female jockey to ride a Grade One Cheltenham Festival winner. The 70,000-strong crowd roared their approval, as they did again for the big one – Friday’s Gold Cup Chase – which was won by Paul Townend aboard Al Boum Photo.

Al Boum Photo gave trainer Willie Mullins his first Cheltenham Gold Cup victory, following six second-place finishes in previous years. It was a day of mixed emotions for Mullins, though, after one of his three other runners in the race, Invitation Only, suffered a fatal injury following a fall. Our thoughts to all those connected with him.

HyperActive was onsite at Cheltenham for the duration, supporting an Adobe Creative Cloud Premiere Pro edit setup for NEP. And we’ll be alongside NEP throughout the rest of the year at Aintree, Epsom, Royal Ascot, Goodwood and York Ebor too.
