Gravity Media (as Gearhouse Broadcast) contributed a large variety of equipment for this summer’s tournament. This included cameras, lenses, monitors and systems equipment such as vision routers, glue and distribution amplifiers.
Prior to the event Gravity Media’s Rental division and engineering workshop staff liaised with SIS LIVE’s engineers to ensure that the correct equipment was supplied to deliver the technical solution required. The equipment was then thoroughly tested and configured by Gravity Media engineers at the Watford office & workshops before being delivered to site. Any additional equipment required throughout the transmission reached the site within an hour of a request. During the set up week, prior to the event, Gravity Media supplied a project engineer to assist SIS LIVE’s engineers with the integration of the equipment into the BBC facility. The equipment Gravity Media supplied included 6 Sony HDC-1500 camera channels and 5 Slow motion cameras – Sony HDC 3300, 6 vision mixers – 4 Sony MFS2000 & 2 Grass Valley Kayaks, 9 HD EVS systems plus HD and SD distribution and audio embedding equipment.
The Wimbledon proved to be a challenging but successful event. All equipment was tested and delivered on time. To ensure the smooth running of the event, Gravity Media had engineering staff available 24/7 in case of any failures. Having successfully managed to deliver to SIS LIVE’s requirements Gravity Media are currently making arrangements to supply a variety of equipment for Wimbledon 2010.
