THE PROJECT

In October 2020, Telstra commissioned Gravity Media’s team in Sydney to support the seventh annual Telstra Vantage event  a major business showcase for Telstra’s enterprise customers and partnersHeld across two days, Telstra Vantage is celebration of ideas, technology and business solutions. 

Gravity Media’s role was to deliver 40 hours of live broadcast across three live-streamed channels. 

the approach

Until 2020, Telstra Vantage had been a physical event at which Telstra’s business customers gathered to learn about new ways to solve their commercial challenges. However, with the spread of COVID-19, Telstra had to reimagine the event to engage with its audience in a completely different format. The result was Telstra Vantage Remixed – a high-tech virtual version of the event. 

As production partner, we were excited to bring Telstra’s vision to life. Working alongside creative agency Imagination, Gravity Media live-streamed unbroken coverage of 38 sessions, panel discussions and keynote presentations from Telstra, its partners and special guests. The streams were available live and on demand, exclusively for Telstra’s enterprise customers.   

Two of the channels were produced from Telstra’s Sydney Customer Insight Centre, while the third was broadcast from Gravity Media’s own studio at The Production Centre, Sydney, located in ArtarmonAt each location, we provided full production crew alongside all the necessary broadcast and camera gear. This included a multi-camera, turnkey flyaway kit on location at Telstra. 

tHE OUTCOME

Telstra Vantage Remixed was delivered live on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 October 2020Gravity Media delivered a start-to-finish solution, successfully bringing together a range of different signals from all around the world and integrating them into the three control rooms.   

Over the two days, Telstra Vantage Remixed participants discussed ways to accelerate the digital economy and solve real-life business challenges and explored how to create an adaptive workforce to respond and thrive in the modern commercial environment. Keynote speakers included former Prime Minister Julia Gillard, cybersecurity expert Frank Abagnale, and leading demographer Bernard Salt.
