THE PROJECT:

The Voice is a light entertainment programme that sees superstars from the world of music take on the role of coach to find the UK’s next great singer. The would-be stars of the future begin their auditions with the coaches turned away. If the judge likes what they hear, they hit a button to spin around and reveal the face behind the voice.

THE SOLUTION: 

Gravity Media – then branded HyperActive Broadcast – has been invited to work on both the adult and kids versions of the programme. 

In support of the adult programme’s recording at Elstree Film Studios, our technical support engineers installed 3 x 8 channel EVS XT3 servers c/w XDCAM and XTAccess servers to handle 24 record streams, all within a 10GB environment. We then supported ITV Creative’s post-production partner on the series, Envy Post Production, with 8 x 32TB Avid ISIS 5000 Series Storage Engines.

For he Voice Kids, Gravity Media supplied a comprehensive Avid/EVS file based workflow solution, including 6 x EVS XTAccess servers, again capable of recording up to 24 feeds in real time.

THE OUTCOME:

The show went on to win an RTS Craft & Design Award for Best Lighting for Multicamera.
