THE CUSTOMER

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is the global governing body of the Paralympic Movement. It organises the summer and winter Paralympic Games and acts as the International Federation for ten sports, supervising and co-ordinating World Championships and other competitions.

THE PROJECT

Back in 2004, the IPC was in need of help with is tape archive. As its events were growing and becoming more established, so had the need for a comprehensive archive storage solution.

THE APPROACH

Gravity Media – then branded Input Media – has become the custodian of the IPC’s entire archive. We began by holding and managing the existing tape archive and then, from 2016, the digital archive. Our experienced team oversees tape storage, clip distribution, barcoding and tape relabelling, along with any quality control or spot-checks when required.

THE OUTCOME

The IPC archive has grown exponentially over the past 20 years. Material extends back to Barcelona 1992, and includes Nagano 1998, Sydney 2000, Salt Lake City 2002, Athens 2004, Turin 2006, Beijing 2008 and Vancouver 2010.

Following Rio 2016, our Archive department have received a multitude of requests from IPC sports, athletes and broadcasters. The footage is available on numerous formats, including HD for Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010, London 2012 and Sochi 2014.

INPUT MEDIA HAS BECOME GRAVITY MEDIA

On 31 October 2019, the four leading broadcast and production houses Gearhouse Broadcast, Hyperactive Broadcast, Input Media and Chief Entertainment owned by Gravity Media Group started trading under the brand name of ‘Gravity Media’. All Gravity Media companies around the world are making this transition and will now go to market as a single brand with a bold new look and purpose.
