BBC Sport – the sports production arm of the UK’s national public-service broadcaster, and domestic rights-holder of the FIFA 2015 Women’s World Cup.
Presentation across the BBC of the 2015 Women’s World Cup from Canada – essentially a studio wrap-around of host-broadcast coverage of specific matches from our London Production Centre, with highlights of all other games edited and delivered to the BBC for use across all its platforms.
Delivering top-quality, editorially driven coverage of this major women’s football tournament was the absolute priority. Input Media’s fully networked, file-based infrastructure enabled us to do just that. Attention to detail was key. Producing the live programming was just one part of this complex operation – capturing and delivering match highlights and other colour features for use across the BBC was just as important. Input co-ordinated with BBC Sport and the BBC’s digital teams to ensure all deliveries were what they wanted when it was needed, as well as having a small Input Media team on the road in Canada with the England Lionesses.
We produced studio programming of the highest standard from our facilities in London; highly acclaimed shows that set the scene and captured the story of the individual games and overall tournament, with incisive analysis from our studio guests and impactful colour features produced by Input Media producers in London and on the road in Canada.
