THE CUSTOMER

Arena Racing Company (ARC) is the largest racecourse group in the UK, operating 16 racecourses across a mix of flat, jump and all-weather tracks. ARC hosts about 35% of the UK’s horseracing fixtures each year.

THE PROJECT

ARC was searching for a partner to provide a dedicated, flexible and cost-effective broadcast solution to help deliver a new, integrated racing service of consolidated content from its horse and greyhound race days to its betting partners.

THE APPROACH

Gravity Media – then branded Input Media – assigned a permanent production gallery for every race day of the year, housed in our London Production Centre. A dedicated broadcast and automation system was installed to enable single-director operation of The Racing Partnership live service. Facilities include an EVS XT3 for feed ingest and replays, design and implementation of Aston 3D graphics with full integration to live betting data, and dedicated audio capability.

The ARC production system is fully integrated into the fabric of our Production Centre and supported by our in-house team of technologists and engineers. Connectivity to ARC’s racecourses is arranged directly by the customer, with Input Media supplying matrix capacity, rack space, power and cooling for the network termination and video decoder equipment. We also provide ARC with dedicated VO facilities, meaning its commentary team always work in familiar surroundings, along with full technical and engineering support whenever they’re on air.

THE OUTCOME

The production gallery being housed within our Production Centre offers ARC outstanding facilities complete with production and technical support teams that have an unparalleled understanding of live sports broadcasting.

INPUT MEDIA HAS BECOME GRAVITY MEDIA

On 31 October 2019, the four leading broadcast and production houses Gearhouse Broadcast, Hyperactive Broadcast, Input Media and Chief Entertainment owned by Gravity Media Group started trading under the brand name of ‘Gravity Media’. All Gravity Media companies around the world are making this transition and will now go to market as a single brand with a bold new look and purpose.
