The Gravity Media team was back underway in Townsville over the weekend for Round 7 and 8 of the Supercars Championships servicing the world feed and Fox Sports’ unilateral, and also Ch10 Unilateral for Round 7 out of the Gravity Production Centre in Sydney Studio & Control. The team provided all of the technical broadcast facilities with almost 12 hours of practice, qualifying and racing broadcast live and advertisement free exclusively on Fox Sports 506 across the two-day event.
In just 30 hours, the crew travelled a distance of over 2,504kms (1,556 miles) across the ‘top end’ where the crew completed a full rig around the streets of Townsville CBD which is usually afforded in a six day rig, however, this was now compressed to three and a half days in time for rehearsals after Round 5 & 6 in Darwin.
Two extra rounds have now been confirmed for Tailem Bend, South Australia at the privately owned racetrack – The Bend Motorsport Park – which will push the final round at Bathurst back by a week. This will be the last race of the season for 2020, which has been dramatically effected due to COVID-19. All involved have been amazing, and put personal lives on hold to stay on the tour for over 10 weeks away from home during a pandemic.
