Gearhouse Broadcast was pleased to sponsor the SVG College Summit – this year held at the CNN Center in Atlanta from 29th to 31st May, where it attracted sports broadcasters, video producers and eSports enthusiasts amongst its 600+ guests.

It was a familiar format over the three days – thought-provoking panel discussions and presentations, as well as production training, tech demonstrations and plenty of networking.

For Gearhouse, it was an opportunity to welcome a host of customers and contacts onto our stand in the technology showcase area, to talk them through some of the recent college sport applications of our remote multipath, centralized production platforms. In fact, the event pretty much coincided with the successful completion of our 1,850th multi-camera REMI production, following our coverage of the Washington Huskies vs California Bears in the Pac-12 Baseball. That milestone cemented Gearhouse’s position as the leader in delivering ‘At Home’ centralized productions.

Talking about ‘At Home’ was definitely what interested visitors to our stand most, as well as how to build operations cost-effectively through remote production assets fitted out with ‘Simply Live’ workflow systems. Universities and colleges have moved into the program production business on a volume basis, where both resources will play an important role.

The SVG College Summit concluded on Friday 31st, with a morning dedicated to the emerging opportunities represented by live eSports production. The session provided a focused look at how some of the top eSports brands put together their live-streaming productions, and offered advice on how to enhance productions or build an operation from the ground up. Gearhouse was in the thick of the discussion of course, having crafted some of the industry’s biggest live gaming events for the likes of Microsoft, Activision and EA Games.
