Gravity Media’s HD mobile unit, Maestro, has been deployed to support TV Asahi’s coverage of the Skate Canada International figure skating championships in Kelowna, British Columbia.

Running from October 25th to 27th, this was the second event of the 2019–20 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating ‒ a senior-level international competition series covering four disciplines: men’s singles; ladies’ singles; pair skating; and ice dance. Successful skaters earned points toward qualifying for the 2019–20 Grand Prix Final in December.

TV Asahi is a Japanese television network headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. It broadcasts and live streams a variety of genres, ranging from music and drama to sports and light entertainment.

Maestro was the perfect HD partner for the job. It’s a 40ft G&A Super Stallion mobile unit featuring a full-length curb-side expand to allow seating for eight in production and five in tape. It has been expertly fitted out with Sony HD Triax cameras, EVS XT3 and LSM servers, a Grass Valley Kalypso multi-format HD switcher, Calrec Omega audio console, RTS ADAM CS 64 matrix intercom, and Chyron Duet HyperX3 HD graphics system.
