Eisteddfod – the national festival of Wales

Posted on:

The National Eisteddfod of Wales is the largest cultural event of its kind in Europe. Held annually, the festival takes place for eight days at the start of August; a celebration of all things Welsh – the country, its language, its culture. Visitors enjoy stalls and shops, food, music, arts and crafts, design and architecture.

This year’s Eisteddfod runs from 3 to 10 August, and rigging is already well under way in Llanrwst, Conwy County, where HyperActive is supporting BBC Wales with nine Avid Media Composer systems paired with Avid NEXIS storage and EVS IP Directors for media and streaming management.

The BBC will have a comprehensive results round-up from the various music and dance competitions, including video highlights of the top competitors and coverage of all the main ceremonies.
