The Brio from Calrec is the most compact console within Calrec’s Bluefin 2 range. It has a unique control surface and comes in two sizes: the larger Brio 36, with a 36-fader dual-layer surface at 892mm wide (or slim trim at 830mm); and the Brio 12, with a 12-fader dual-layer surface at only 484mm wide. Both pack a lot into a small surface area, and both offer more faders in a given footprint than any other comparable audio console. What’s more, they can be expanded to 96 and 64 channels respectively.
According to our Director Ed Tischler: “This is an amazingly compact console for broadcast businesses like ours. The Calrec 36 usually caters for all our needs. It has an intuitive HD touchscreen UI, so control is quick and supported by illuminating hardware rotary controls that give fast and precise control over parameters. There’s ample delay resource, dynamics, integrated talkback, and multiple monitor outputs. This console is broadcast-ready, with no compromise or additional workarounds. You get so much for your money with this console and, as productions demand more and more audio mixes, these smaller consoles with live broadcast features are definitely the way to go.”
