ABS-CBN is the leading media and entertainment company in the Philippines, involved in content creation and production for television, radio and cinema for both domestic and international markets. ASAP is the longest-running musical variety show on Philippine television, showcasing ABS-CBN’s best and brightest artists and world-class performers. It is also the world’s largest touring Filipino musical and dance show, with its latest destination being San Francisco in Northern California.
Indeed, San Francisco is where ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel (TFC) was born, so it was fitting that ASAP should return to the Bay Area to celebrate TFC’s 25th anniversary. The event was held at the SAP Arena in San Jose and Gearhouse Broadcast USA was engaged to support the event, deploying Columbus and its B Unit, which gave us 14 cameras onsite, including three RFs and four robo cameras.
The result was two full-length, live ASAP episodes full of infectious energy, musical repertoire and dazzling choreography – a true showcase of Filipino talent and pride enjoyed by an audience of millions.
Gearhouse Broadcast USA is delighted to have been awarded the contract, following hot on the heels of Gearhouse Broadcast Australia, who supported the show in Sydney last year.
