In May this year, Gravity Media (as HyperActive) supported BBC Music’s The Biggest Weekend, which saw 175,000 people descend on Belfast, Coventry, Perth and Swansea to enjoy a star-studded line-up of some of the biggest names in music. Acts over the four days included Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, the Stereophonics, Taylor Swift and Liam Gallagher.
The BBC’s intention was to “bring the nation together for a massive celebration of live music”, and it dedicated extensive coverage to the event across BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Four and online, with Gravity Media providing Avid Media Composer Symphony facilities c/w Avid Interplay, Transfer Engines and Media Indexer Servers to capture every moment of action from the main stage. An EVS ChannelMAX solution completed the setup, enabling quick turnaround edits and play-outs.
We were ready to integrate our festival boots into the setup too, but the weather surprised us all with glorious sunshine from start to finish.
