Gearhouse Broadcast USA, the Gravity Media-owned supplier of technical facilities, crew and services used to capture the world’s most watched content, has appointed Jeff Hallman as its Director of Sales and Operations, East Coast. The respected advanced broadcast media system design specialist will oversee Gravity Media’s (as Gearhouse Broadcast) East Coast operations from its Charlotte, NC office as well as be responsible for business growth in the area.
Having operated within the media and entertainment industry for the last 25 years, Jeff has extensive experience in developing turnkey, end to end digital workflow solutions for live content acquisition and delivery across multiple platforms. His most recent role was at CenturyLink where he worked as a senior solutions architect to identify opportunities, interpret media transport service requirements and design solutions for international broadcasters and content owners. He has also held senior roles with Level 3 Communications, Genesis Networks and at OBS for various Summer and Winter Olympic Games. At the 2006 Asian Games in Qatar, Jeff worked as a guarantee engineer for Gearhouse Broadcast.
Michael Harabin, Gearhouse Broadcast USA’s President, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jeff onboard as our Director of Sales and Operations on the East Coast. His expertise in managing relationships and contracts with major sports and entertainment broadcasters, professional teams and international sporting federations will further enhance our customers’ experiences and help us to deliver services to more of the East Coast media market.”
Discussing his appointment, Jeff added: “Joining Gearhouse Broadcast is a logical career progression for me as it has a strong reputation and a commitment to supporting new ways of working, like IP and software based remote production applications. This is an area I’ve focussed on recently and we see it as an opportunity for growth as a company going forward.”
Gravity Media’s operations in Charlotte brings it closer to major broadcasters on the East Coast. Jeff will further ensure Gravity Media is more accessible for broadcasters and that production clients get the support they need quickly. By basing assets – mobile remote production units, rental equipment and staff – on the East Coast, Gravity Media’s clients will also benefit from more cost-effective productions.
Following extensive investment secured by its parent company Gravity Media from TowerBrook Capital Partners, Gearhouse Broadcast USA has recently introduced three new mobile production units into the North American market; Columbus, its LA-based4K mobile unit, and two multi-purpose mobile production units; Skye and Iona that serve the East Coast from Charlotte.
