iso accreditation

On 1 July 2021, Gravity Media’s UK business formally began the process of earning certification to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. These are internationally recognised standards in Environmental and Health & Safety Management, conferred by the International Organisation for Standardisation.

The main driver for gaining these standards is to ensure that we limit our impact on the environment whilst simultaneously providing a sustainable, safe workplace that’s a supportive and responsible space for all our employees.

ISO accreditation

ISO 14001 is the principal international standard for environmental management systems (EMS), and the system that specifies the requirements for the formulation and maintenance of an EMS. An effective toolkit of mechanisms for managing environmental issues and driving sustainability and improvement, it is designed to ensure that, as an organisation, we understand our effects on the environment as well as how we are affected by it. This toolkit will enable us to manage these effects by placing strategic environmental planning into all future business plans, reassuring our stakeholders of our commitment to the environment, and ensuring we meet all our legal obligations.

ISO 45001 is the benchmark international standard for occupational health and safety, protecting employees and visitors from work-related accidents and diseases. It has the ultimate goal of helping businesses provide a healthy and safe working environment for their employees and everyone else who visits the workplace, which can be achieved by controlling factors that could potentially lead to injury, illness and ‒ in extreme situations ‒even death. As a result, ISO 45001 is concerned with mitigating any factors that are harmful or that pose a danger to workers’ physical and/or mental wellbeing. By making a commitment to gain certification to ISO 45001, Gravity Media makes a commitment to our staff and everyone who interacts with us that we will put their safety and wellbeing first.

Accreditation follows an approved path, tailored to each company according to industry requirements. 28 February 2022 is the proposed date for our Stage 2 Certification Audit, but this will not signify an end to the process. We recognise that our ESG performance is a continuous, adaptive journey, and part of our ongoing efforts to embed a culture of environmental and health & safety management in Gravity Media.
