Gravity Media’s production vehicles Ovation and Polaris with engineers Scott Clifford and Adam Taylor supported last week’s Democratic National Convention using a REMI production workflow.

On Tuesday 18 August, Ovation was in Wilmington, Delaware where Vice President Joe Biden, accompanied by his wife Dr Jill Biden, accepted his party’s nomination from the library of Brandywine High School where his wife, Jill, taught in the early 1990s.

Then on Wednesday 19 August, Polaris was in Philadelphia, PA where former President Barack Obama gave a live address from one of the galleries at the Museum of the American Revolution.

PSSI’s mobile uplink facility was used to uplink Polaris’ and Ovation’s camera feeds and audio back to master control for full integration of the 2020 virtual convention.

Ovation was specifically designed to support “At Home” control room productions. With 10 TX and 2 RX paths, extensive fiber I/O, and a new implementation of Dante for Audio and Communications, Ovation is equipped to handle the most complex of broadcasts, yet agile enough to be practical for simple shows as well.

Polaris is a multi-functional broadcast vehicle, which can produce events using multiple production workflows; fully produced in the field, REMI/ “At-Home” or in efficient mode with a reduced crew.  Polaris comfortably seats a crew of seven.
