Gravity Media brings further senior talent onboard appointing Chris Cannon from NEP as Director – Operations EMEA, to join the growing team

Gravity Media, the world leading global provider of complex live creative production and media services, is proud to announce the news that they are welcoming further senior talent as Chris Cannon has been brought on board from NEP as the new Director – Operations, EMEA.

Cannon joins the expanding, talented Gravity Media global team of over 500 people to take up the appointed role alongside Managing Director Ed Tischler as a part of the key senior leadership team further bolstering the EMEA market offering.

With over 20 years of experience working in Media & Technology which saw him progress through technical operations roles, into management and leadership roles, building and leading large teams to deliver state of the art technical media solutions – Cannon’s appointment sees him join from NEP where he worked since 2001.

Cannon was first promoted to Head of Vision Engineering in 2014 and then in 2016 into his previous role as NEP’s Director of Technical Operations, He has established himself as a seasoned strategic expert and leader in the industry.

In his role at NEP, he brings experience leading the Operational performance of such key high profile projects including: the royal wedding of William and Catherine as well as the Queen’s funeral broadcast for the BBC. He oversaw UK operations on the Euro’s 2020, Sky Sports Premier League, Champions League, Wimbledon Tournament and the WTA Tennis Tournament. Some of this entertainment highlights include working on high profile reality TV shows such as Love Island and The Circle.

In his new Gravity Media Director – Operations, EMEA role, Cannon will be a strategic leader with accountability for the performance of the business Assets, Logistics, Engineering Operations and Production Management teams across the EMEA regions of the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain and the Middle East.

Cannon’s appointment follows other key Gravity Media talent hires and promotions including Steve Kruger joining as Executive Director – Technology who moved across fresh from ITV Studios, Pete Newton’s role as Executive Director – Media Services & Facilities, and Jamie Brewer’s promotion to Director – Media Services & Facilities
