The 2019 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships run from Tuesday 19 February to Sunday 3 March in Seefeld, Austria. Seefeld is an Alpine town in the state of Tyrol, lying on a plateau above Innsbruck, and ringed by the Wetterstein and Karwendel mountain ranges. Seefeld is one of five villages that make up the Olympia Region, where cross-country skiing is a way of life.

The Championships will see athletes from 65 nations competing for €690,000 in prize money across three different categories: Nordic combined, cross-country and ski jumping. That translates into 22 individual skiing competitions, with 129 gold, silver and bronze medals at stake.

Around 200 million TV viewers are expected to watch some 900 hours of live reporting, so it’s good news that HyperActive Broadcast was able to supply 12 x Canon HJ14s, 2 x HJ22s and 3 x EVS ChannelMAX XT[3]s to GBL to help with the coverage.
