Saturday 26 October saw Cage Warriors 109 take place at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, where the night’s eight pro fights included one of the biggest non-title fights of the year in Dean Trueman (GB) vs Morgan Charriere (Fra). Former featherweight champion Trueman was ultimately defeated by rising star Charriere by TKO in the third round.

Cage Warriors is widely seen as the proving ground for MMA’s next big stars, being the former home of Conor McGregor, Michael Bisping and almost 100 other big-name fighters who have gone on to the UFC.

Fight Night 109’s main event was between local hero Jai Herbert and former UFC fighter Cain Carrizsoa (USA) in the Lightweight Championship. Herbert defeated Carrizosa via KO/TKO at 3:26 of Round 1.

Gravity Media’s new UK outside broadcast truck, Pictor, was used to host broadcast the event. Pictor is an 18ft rigid unit with capacity for 16 HD camera channels and two RFs, and a three-tiered production area that can accommodate a crew of eight. This state-of-the art mobile unit offers the latest AV equipment from Grass Valley, Calrec and EVS.
