General Summary

You will be expected to work closely with the suppliers, crew, the rest of the team and ensure client’s satisfaction. The Production Manager is the first point of contact for the relevant outside Broadcast project of which they are assigned to manage both in office and sometimes on site, depending on the event and its location.

Duties 

Office duties: pre-event 

  • Sourcing and management of outside suppliers to provide all facilities and equipment required according to the technical list (rental or projects jobs)
  • Negotiation of X hire rates in accordance to the objectives set by the head of production
  • Management of Project Costs and variations (quoting, recording, processing for invoicing)
  • Coordinating with Technical Director / Sales Manager/ Clients regarding additional production and equipment requirements
  • Crew bookings/negotiations and preparation of Contracts
  • Equipment logistics: Liaise with the warehouse and the shipping company to prepare and make sure all the customs documentation is correct and the goods delivery will be on time
  • Plan and organisation to include:
    • International travel (flights, trains etc. as required)
    • Booking accommodation
    • Accreditation
    • Updating Project data on our softwares (Excel planning etc)
    • Producing worksheets (rate, PD, hotel etc.) for project
    • Creation and Distribution of Call Sheets / Production Manuals and other paperwork as required
    • Crew Visas
    • Cash requests and reconciliation
    • Organising visas (instructing crew on the application process and arranging any supporting paperwork)
    • Anything relevant to the project

On-site duties: 

  • To manage the coordination of all suppliers during the installation and dismantle periods, and organise any repairs or maintenance during the event
  • Be the point of contact for all clients and broadcasters to ensure all needs are being met on site
  • Day to day management of technical and production crew on site
  • Creating and issuing daily schedules/planning call times in accordance with transmission schedule and requirements of production
  • Organising daily transportation/hire cars for all crew to and from site in accordance with call times and finish times
  • Health and Safety/production of Risk Assessments
