We are expanding our Virtual Reality/Extended Reality video teams and are searching for a “Worldbuilder” to help specify, curate and create virtual sets and environments for video production using Horizon Worlds.

Position Summary: Gravity Media operates high-end video production facilities on-site at a global Silicon Valley technology company. We are expanding our Virtual Reality/Extended Reality video teams and are searching for a “Worldbuilder” to help specify, curate and create virtual sets and environments for video production using Horizon Worlds. In this position, you’ll work closely with Service Delivery Manager, Production Supervisor and Coordinator, vendors and the rest of the resources within the Gravity ecosystem to coordinate, prepare and supervise projects that will be run from client’s facility. Occasionally, this position may be required to attend a remote event and may be required to respond to critical situations after normal work hours.

Essential Duties:

Technical –

  • Specify, design and construct virtual environments for use in Extended Reality events and productions
  • Work with external vendors to create XR & VR environments when scale requires it
  • Provice expertise in Horizon Worlds with additional expertise in Unity, Unreal Engine, and Engage authoring environments
  • Work with XR event and studion teams to refine, deploy and redelploy XR environments for event and studio productions
  • Write scripts in Horizon Worlds that add interactivity and gamification to those environments
  • Track, maintain, enhance, dress and reset existing XR worlds and environments
  • Uphold, maintain and enhance quality standards throughout project lifecycle

Administrative

  • Provide excellent customer service and communication to all stakeholders, including senior- level stakeholders, during all phases of studio production and client interaction
  • Supervise and oversee creative flow on large-scale builds
  • Complete detailed reports upon project completion
  • Create, update and enhance technical standards and procedure documentation
  • Create project timelines that are feasible but ambitious and meet all deadlines
  • Juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced production environment
  • Devise creative solutions to problems as they arise
  • Perform other job-related duties and projects as needed and assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of previous hands-on experience with world modeling and environment construction in Horizon, Unity and/or Unreal Engine
  • Experience and familiarity with Horizn Worlds
  • Advanced understanding of virtual surface, texture and lighting concepts
  • Ability to construct and optimize complex physical environment models
  • Familiarity with virtual camera configuration and use
  • Familiarity with digital editing systems such as Premiere Pro and the Creative Cloud
  • Must have excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong client relations and interfacing skills
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Written and verbal communication proficiency
  • Organized and strong leadership abilities

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, reach outward or above the shoulder, stand, walk, handle with fingers, stand, bend, and stoop.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard, view a video display terminal screen, ability to use telephone equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and push or pull up to 25 pounds.
