Gravity Media is a brand-new company with a 30-year pedigree, formed by the coming together of four established broadcast and production houses: Gearhouse Broadcast, HyperActive Broadcast, Input Media and Chief Entertainment, now enhanced with the addition of the DSNG fleet and Globecam specialty camera unit formerly of Telstra Broadcast Services. We are looking for a highly motivated and professional individual to be responsible for designing, maintaining and troubleshooting infrastructure and workflows, ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security in our post-production and live broadcast workflows.

This is a full-time permanent role based in Sydney, providing exposure to a diverse range of exciting local and international projects. Reporting to the Head of Workflow, you will be working with the latest broadcast and post production technologies and be exposed to a wide range of challenges in all tiers of Sports broadcasting, light entertainment and feature film.
Main responsibilities include:

  • Build, manage and support video acquisition workflows, primarily using AVID and EVS equipment;
  • Deploy streaming video solutions to support remote productions, client monitoring and remote edits;
  • Providing first line and remote system support to address technical faults in a timely manner to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Evaluating new software and hardware;
  • Document new media workflows and provide guidance for internal and external stakeholders;
  • Work in collaboration with the IT and Engineering department to ensure cohesiveness and consistency in systems, operational practices and standards across the Company;
  • Develop and maintain positive communication with clients and producers.
  • Proactively monitor and optimise workflow systems and networks;

To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated and proactive team player who has:

  • Initiative to take a hands-on practical role in a diverse technical environment;
  • Ability to handle complex tasks and apply problem solving skills;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • A proven level of high accountability of project outcomes;
  • An eagerness to find optimal workflow solutions;
  • An interest in the latest software and hardware technologies available;
  • Experience in Live or Post-production engineering environments is desirable;
  • Proven ability to form strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders;
  • ACSR Qualifications or equivalent industry experience;
  • Experience with Interplay, ISIS, Nexis, EVS and AVID system administration.
